The Splendide® WFL2500X Washer was designed specifically for RV owners who want residential-quality laundry performance in a compact, RV-approved appliance. Whether you've just installed your new washer or you're preparing it for your first load, this guide will walk you through the basics of operation, cycle selection, detergent usage, and the built-in winterization system.
Before Your First Load
Before washing clothing for the first time, run an empty Tub Fresh cycle. This helps clean and prepare the drum for regular operation.
Loading the Washer
For best washing performance:
- Mix large and small items together to help balance the load.
- Avoid overloading the drum. Clothing needs room to move freely during the wash cycle.
- Close the washer door firmly before starting a cycle.
Proper loading helps reduce vibration, improves cleaning performance, and promotes more effective spin cycles.
Adding Detergent and Laundry Products
The WFL2500X detergent drawer includes separate compartments for detergent, fabric softener, and liquid bleach.
Detergent Compartment
Use only High Efficiency (HE) detergent.
For powder detergent:
- Keep the detergent partition in the UP position.
For liquid detergent:
- Move the detergent partition to the DOWN position.
A small amount of detergent is typically all that's required. Excess detergent can create excessive suds and affect washing performance.
Fabric Softener
Add liquid fabric softener to the designated softener compartment.
Liquid Bleach
The bleach compartment should only be used when the green insert is installed. Remove the insert when bleach is not being used.
Selecting a Wash Cycle
The WFL2500X offers multiple wash programs to handle a variety of laundry needs.
- Available cycle selections include:
- Heavy Duty / Whites
- Regular
- Permanent Press
- Delicates
- Cold Wash
- Quick Wash
- Bedding

- Spin + Drain
- Rinse
To choose a cycle:
- Rotate the Cycle Selector Knob.
- Select the desired wash program.
- Confirm any additional settings.
- Press Start/Pause to begin.
Customizing Wash Settings
Before starting a cycle, you can customize several options.
Available adjustments include:
- Water temperature
- Spin speed
- Heavy Soil option
- Steam option
- Extra Rinse option
- Additional wash settings depending on cycle selection
These options allow you to tailor wash performance to specific fabrics and soil levels.
Starting a Wash Cycle
Once your laundry is loaded and your cycle is selected:
- Press the Start/Pause button.
- The washer door will automatically lock.
- The cycle will begin.
- When the cycle is complete, the door will automatically unlock.
For best results, remove laundry promptly after the cycle finishes and turn the Cycle Selector to OFF.
Understanding the Door Lock Indicator
The door lock indicator provides information about the status of the washer door.
Flashing Light
A flashing indicator means the washer is in the process of unlocking the door.
This process may take up to two minutes.
Light Off
When the indicator is off, the door can be safely opened.
Solid Light
A solid indicator means the door is locked and cannot be opened.
The door may remain locked if:
- The drum contains too much water.
- The drum temperature is too high.
If this occurs, allow the cycle to continue or run a Spin + Drain cycle to remove excess water.
Changing a Cycle in Progress
If you need to switch to a different wash cycle:
- Press Start/Pause.
- Rotate the Cycle Selector to the new cycle.
- Press Start/Pause again.
The washer will drain before beginning the newly selected cycle.
Pausing a Cycle
To pause operation:
- Press Start/Pause once.
- Wait for the Door Lock indicator to show the door can be safely opened.
Canceling a Cycle
To cancel an active cycle:
- Rotate the Cycle Selector to another cycle position.
- Follow the Door Lock indicator status before opening the door.
How to Winterize the Splendide® WFL2500X
One of the most unique features of the WFL2500X is its built-in Winterize cycle, designed specifically for RV owners.
If your RV's plumbing system has already been winterized with RV antifreeze, follow these steps.
Step 1: Prepare the Washer
Before starting:
- Winterize all faucets.
- Winterize shower heads.
- Winterize exterior showers.
- Winterize toilets.
- Remove the bleach container from the detergent compartment.
Step 2: Start the Winterize Cycle
- Turn the Cycle Selector to Winterize.
- Press Start/Pause.
Step 3: Confirm Antifreeze Flow
The washer fills three separate times.
Open the detergent drawer and visually confirm that colored RV antifreeze enters during each phase.
Sequence:
- First fill: detergent compartment
- Second fill: bleach compartment
- Third fill: detergent compartment again
Step 4: Repeat if Necessary
If antifreeze does not appear during all three fill stages, repeat the Winterize cycle.
Step 5: Complete Winter Storage
After confirming antifreeze flow:
- Turn the Cycle Selector to OFF.
- Wipe down the washer.
- Leave the washer door slightly open during storage.
How to De-Winterize the WFL2500X
When you're ready to use the washer again after storage:
Step 1: Prepare the RV
De-winterize:
- Faucets
- Shower heads
- Exterior showers
- Toilets
Step 2: Start the Winterize Cycle
Turn the Cycle Selector to Winterize and press Start/Pause.
Step 3: Confirm Clear Water Flow
Open the detergent drawer and verify that clear water enters during all three fill phases.
Sequence:
- First fill: detergent compartment
- Second fill: bleach compartment
- Third fill: detergent compartment again
Step 4: Repeat if Necessary
If water does not appear during all phases, or if the water is not running clear, repeat the process.
Step 5: Flush the Washer
Run a Regular cycle with warm water and no laundry in the drum.
This helps remove any remaining antifreeze from the washer.
Step 6: Inspect the System
While the cycle is running:
- Check for leaks.
- Inspect hose connections.
- Inspect the detergent drawer area.
- Verify all connections remain watertight.
Once the cycle is complete, the washer is ready for normal use.
Storage Tip
To help prevent odors and mildew growth, leave the washer door slightly open whenever the appliance is not in use or is being stored for an extended period.
